May Building Manager Update

Spring/Summer Building Manager Meeting

The Spring/Summer 2022 Building Manager Meeting will be held on June 15, 2022 from 9am – 10:30am. This meeting will be held virtually, via Zoom.

Locksmith Shop Relocated

As part of a larger relocation of Physical Plant staff and services, the Locksmith Shop has relocated from the Service Building to 30 North Mills St. The new Locksmith Shop does not have a counter for walk-ins.

All customer key requests must be submitted via the FP&M Customer Portal (NetID login) using the Keys request tile. Keys will be delivered to your location, typically via Campus Mail.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact Physical Plant Customer Service or your Facilities Specialist.

Service Building and Annex

The Service Building and Service Annex will be torn down soon to make way for the new School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences (CDIS) building. Its operations, including the sheet metal shop, the lock shop and the carpentry workshop, are moving to other campus locations.

The buildings’ long history on campus, and the contributions of their occupants over the years, were celebrated with a commemorative event on May 17. Check out the photo gallery.

Williams Appointed Interim CPLA Director

He has extensive experience working with committees both on- and off-campus including the Campus Planning Committee, Joint Campus Area Committee, and the Design Review Board. He is a UW-Madison graduate with a degree in landscape architecture.
