This is the last building manager update for 2021. All of us at FP&M wish you a safe and joyful holiday season and a happy new year.
FP&M and Physical Plant Leadership Updates
Cindy Torstveit has been selected to serve as the new Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Planning & Management (FP&M). She transitioned to this new role on December 12, 2021.
Her move to this new position left the Interim Executive Director of Physical Plant position vacant. To ensure a smooth transition for both Physical Plant and our campus customers, Jim Bogan has been selected to serve as the next Interim Executive Director, starting on December 19, 2021.
Reminder: Wind-related Issues
Please be sure to check your building now that the December 15 high-wind event has passed. Report any issues to Physical Plant Customer Service so that they can be addressed immediately.
Reminder: Take the Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) Survey
The EHS Environmental Affairs team is asking for your help to identify and inventory any Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) fire suppressant in your building. This is part of an effort to help protect our waters from Perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS), a “forever chemical” that has a strong potential for bioaccumulation and/or bioconcentration.
Please survey your building and fill out the questionnaire at https://go.wisc.edu/afff-survey. Even a negative confirmation helps, so please complete the survey even if you do not find any AFFF in your building.
For more information, check out the recent Facility Manager meeting presentation or send email to environmentalcompliance@fpm.wisc.edu.
