April 2024 Building Manager Update

Building Managers,

Happy Spring! As a new season begins, we have some exciting updates to share with you:

Building Manager Lunch & Learn: Waste and Recycling (April 11, 12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.)
Thank you to everyone who completed the survey after October’s Building Manager Meeting. The survey results highlighted several key areas where Building Managers are seeking additional information, such as training, process documentation, software inquiries, building maintenance and services, and enhanced communication. To address these needs, we are working on several initiatives to improve communication and access to important information, starting with the launch of the Building Manager Lunch & Learn series. These virtual sessions will offer concise information exchanges with campus experts and stakeholders on key topics Building Managers have expressed interest in. They will be recorded and available online for those who cannot attend live or would like to revisit previous topics. The first session is focused on Waste and Recycling, primarily regarding larger or complex items. To attend, visit go.wisc.edu/building-manager-meeting. (This link will be updated to the Teams meeting the day of the event.) Mark your calendar and keep an eye on your inbox for more updates!

Digital Display Inventory
Partnering with the Division of Information Technology (DoIT), we are working on creating a campuswide inventory of digital displays, also known as news monitors or digital bulletin boards. This inventory will help us better understand the available resources and plan for situations where we may need to distribute messaging quickly across campus. Please help by adding your S/C/D’s point-of-contact for digital displays.

Update Contact Information
Is your information up to date in our Building Contacts List? Do we have your cell or home phone number in case of emergencies? Please take a moment to review your contact info and reply to this email if any edits or additions are needed. Cell phone numbers are not required but greatly help with urgent or after hours incidents!

Summer Renovation Project List
Last week, we emailed Summer 2024 campus renovation projects list. If you did not receive this message, please email us so we can forward it to you.

If you have any questions on any of these topics, please feel free to reach out.

Thank you,
