Update: Nails’ Tales was removed and place in storage, as scheduled. See the UW photo gallery for more…

As part of the redesign of the UW Field House South Plaza, the Nails’ Tales sculpture will be removed on August 21.

Once the sculpture has been removed from the South Plaza, it will be stored about 15 miles southeast of campus on University property. Over the next year, UW-Madison will work with campus and community stakeholders and the artist, Donald Lipski, to find a new site for the sculpture.

Contractors will begin preparing the site on August 19 and continue to work through the end of the month to remove the sculpture’s foundation and restore the site for use.

Current plans call for the reconstruction of the South Plaza to begin in February 2020 and be complete before the beginning of the 2020 football season.
