On October 1, 2020 the Biological Safety Cabinet (BSC) Program administered by Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) will begin using AssetWorks to manage service requests and to bill for services.
Billing and Financial Changes
- AssetWorks will charge directly to the funding string, instead of a cost center linked to a specific funding string.
- Equipment serial numbers in AssetWorks link with the university asset number.
- Customers must maintain a valid funding string on the asset prior to services being performed.
- Customers will not have to specify the funding string (or cost center) when requesting service for existing equipment. AssetWorks handles this automatically.
- Customers will no longer use the Financial Management Portal to maintain cost center funding or retrieve financial transactions. The portal will remain available for historical data only.
- Financial statements will be available in AssetWorks via a WorkDesk report.
- Funding updates for existing equipment will now be submitted using the Customer Funding Request/Update form.
